Advantage Multi for Dogs (imidacloprid+moxidectin) is available for use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian to prevent and treat heartworm disease, treat flea infestations, treat and control sarcoptic mange, and to treat and control hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms in dogs and puppies that are at least 7 weeks old and weigh at least 3 pounds.
Advantage Multi for Dogs is dispensed in ready-to-use single-dose applicator tubes for topical administration.
Directions
Apply Advantage Multi Topical for Dogs as instructed by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian or veterinary tech will instruct you on the proper application of Advantage Multi for Dogs. The topical solution is generally applied once monthly.
Advantage Multi for Dogs is not for oral use.
Advantage Multi for Dogs should not be used on humans or cats.
You may refer to the medication leaflet that comes with the prescription for further instructions for use.
Part the fur on the back of your dog between the shoulder blades until you see skin. For dogs that weigh 20 pounds or less, apply the solution onto the skin at one spot on the back of the neck between the shoulder blades. For dogs that weigh more than 20 pounds, apply the solution onto the skin at 3 or 4 spots on the top of the backline from the base of the neck to the upper back where dogs are unable to lick. Avoid getting the product in your dogās eyes and mouth.
Do not apply to wet or broken skin. Do not let your dog or other animals lick the application site for the first 30 minutes of application. Keep children from coming into contact with the application site for 2 hours after application. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water after use.
Your dogās fur may be temporarily stiff, damp, or have a slight powdery residue.
Keep Advantage Multi for Dogs stored between 39Ā°F and 77Ā°F (4Ā°C and 25Ā°C); keep out of reach of children and other pets.

- Do not let children come into contact with application sites for 2 hours after application
- Before your dog begins Advantage Multi for Dogs, discuss the following with your veterinarian:
- Your dogās medications
- Your dogās allergies
- Your dogās current health conditions and past medical history
- If your dog is pregnant, breeding, or lactating
- Caution should be used in dogs that are sick, debilitated, or underweight.
- Before starting Advantage Multi for Dogs, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection, as the medication does not work against adult D. immitis.
- Dogs that ingest the product may experience depression, salivation, dilated pupils, problems with coordination, panting, and generalized muscle tremors. Coma and death can occur in dogs that are sensitive to avermectin.
Side Effects
Depression/lethargy, itching, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, reactions at the application site, redness, lesions, hyperactivity, problems with coordination, trembling, seizures, panting, excessive salivation, anaphylaxis, and corneal ulceration are possible Advantage Multi for Dogs side effects. However, other side effects may also occur.
Immediately inform your veterinarian if your dog develops side effects that are bothersome or persistent.
