Profender (emodepside/praziquantel) is a topical solution available to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian to treat and control hookworm, roundworm, and tapeworm infections in cats and kittens that are at least 8 weeks old and and weigh at least 2.2 pounds.
Profender comes in tubes of various sizes for cats with different weights.
Directions
Profender should be used as directed by your veterinarian, who will determine an appropriate dosage for your cat. You should receive instructions by your veterinarian or veterinary technician on how to apply Profender appropriately. Profender is for topical use only.
Part the fur on the back of your catās neck until you see skin. Profender should be applied onto the skin on the back of the catās neck at the base of the head. Ensure the skin is dry and intact. Do not get the medication in your catās eyes or mouth, and do not allow your cat to lick the application site for one hourāconsuming the medication can result in salivation and vomiting. Keep other pets away from your cat to prevent them from licking the application site. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after application.
A single treatment of Profender is effective; however, it can be reapplied after 30 days if your cat develops another hookworm, roundworm, or tapeworm infection.
Store Profender at or below 77Ā°F (25Ā°C). Avoid freezing. Keep the medication stored away from children and other pets.

Inform your veterinarian right away if your cat has side effects that become worrisome or wonāt go away.
