Revolution Plus (selamectin and sarolaner) topical solution is applied to cats and kittens that are 8 weeks of age or older and weigh 2.8 pounds or more to:
- Prevent heartworm disease
- Treat and prevent flea infestations
- Treat and control tick infestations
- Treat and control ear mite infestations
- Treat and control roundworm and intestinal hookworm infections
Revolution Plus comes in three different dose strengths for cats with various weights. The medication is dispensed in cartons that contain one, three, or six single-dose tubes.
Revolution Plus is available for use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
Directions
Follow your veterinarianâs instructions on the administration of Revolution Plus. Your veterinarian will determine a dose thatâs appropriate for your cat according to its weight. Your veterinarian or veterinary technician will teach you how to properly apply Revolution Plus to your cat. Revolution Plus is applied once monthly and is for topical use only.
Revolution Plus for cats directions:
Part the fur on the back of your catâs neck until you see skin. Revolution Plus should be applied onto dry, unbroken skin at the back of your catâs neck in front of the shoulder blades. Ensure the entire contents are applied. Avoid massaging the product in the skin, and avoid getting the product in your catâs mouth or eyes. Do not let your cat or other animals lick the application site. After applying the medication, wash your hands well with soap and water to avoid potential irritation to the skin or eyes. Your catâs fur may appear temporarily stiff, clumpy, or have a powdery residue.
Revolution Plus should be stored below 30°C (86°F); keep out of reach of children and other animals.

Cautions
- Before your cat begins Revolution Plus monthly, discuss the following with your veterinarian:
- All the medications your cat takes
- Your catâs allergies
- Your catâs current health conditions and past medical history
- If your cat is breeding, lactating, or pregnant
- Revolution Plus for cats should not be used in humans. Keep children and others away from the catâs application site for 4 hours after application.
- Revolution Plus is flammable, therefore, the product should be kept away from sparks, heat, and flames.
- Sarolaner, one of the active ingredients in Revolution Plus, is an isoxazoline medication. Isoxazolines have been associated with neurologic adverse reactions such as tremors, seizures, and problems with coordination. These reactions have been shown in cats receiving these types of medications, even in cats that have no history of neurologic disorders. Caution should be exercised in cats with a history of neurologic disorders.
Side Effects
Lethargy, skin lesions, anorexia, itchiness, conjunctivitis, sneezing, hair loss, and scabbing are some possible side effects of Revolution Plus. Other side effects may also occur.
